A small stream which rises near Caputhill and flows in a Westerly direction till it crosses the road leading from Broxburn to Bathgate at which point the name Bog Burn Commences, from thence it flows in a Southerly direction till it crosses the Railway S [South] East of Boghall and thence in a Westerly course passing through Bathgate Bog till it crosses the road leading from Bathgate to Whitburn at which place it takes the name Bathgate Water |
