This name formerly applied to an old farm house standing on the N. [North] side of the road ¼ mile E. [East] of Hallbathgate, but now includes also a modern built farmstead on the S. [South] side - the former is very old, one story high & in bad repair - the latter is also one story high with good offices, all in good repair, a churning & thrashing being joined to the buildings are uncovered. The property of -

In the enclosure N. [North] of the road (& marked on the trace) three Stone Coffins were dug up containing human remains of a small size which led to the supposition that this enclosure was an Ancient Grave Yard, but there is no record existing to Certify it
