006 [situation] In the SW. [South West] Side of the Parish of Abercorn.

A small village comprised of two large farm houses two stories high, with offices, and a threshing machine attached to Each; and a number of cottages one story high, all in good repair. There is a large garden, and an arable farm attached to each of the farm-houses, and a garden to each of the cottages.
There is one wright's shop, one smithy, and one grocer's shop. The inhabitants are composed of agricultural laborers, tailors, etc. The whole of the village is tenanted, with the exception of one house and garden which is a feu. The Property of the Earl of Hopetoun.
