In several Published Accounts of the County it is said to be the site of a Small Roman Camp or Watch Tower, but there are no traditions in the locality to this effect; neither are there any rema [remains] of a peculiar nature to indicate a Camp; the ground has been much altered in laying out the avenue & plantation |
