104 This name signifies the woefull, or Sorrowfull Knoll, and applies to three small knolls, situated on the north side of the River Fleet, and about half a mile west of Pitfure. "The conflict of Torran Dubhach took place A.D. 1517, between the McKays of Strathnaver, and the inhabitants of the Southeast of Sutherland. The former was totally routed after suffering considerable loss" "vide Brown's History of the Highlands and Highland Clans page 179."

It is two stories in height. The offices which are a short distance west of the dwellinghouse, is one storey high, and slated and in good repair.
