046 | Rises about One mile west of the Hill Meall a' Bhealaiche It pursues a South westerly course to a confluence with Ault-nan-herrow or Allt na h-Aireimh. Both side of this stream is covered with good rough pasture, all of which is let to the people of Helmsdale and others of the Duke of Sutherland's Tenants, for grazing Cattle and horses during the Summer, under the care of Mrs Grant of Griamachc-arry. The best part of the pasture lies along this stream; hence the origin of the name. In this case the culie or Culaid is aspirated but not so with the Lake of that name. |
