029 Rises South of Cnoc na Bà Riabhach in the boundary between the parishes of Kildonan and Reay, and in its Course runs almost due north through the Strath of that name, until it discharges itself into the bay of Bighouse near Melvich, both trout and Salmon are very plentiful in this River.

029 A large valey extending from Bighouse along the River of that name for about fifteen miles to a place Called Forsinaird, there is very little cultivation in this Strath, there being no flat ground in it except Small pieces which have been taken into cultivation by small Crofters. The upper and greater part of it is under Sheep pasture. The property of His Grace the Duke of Sutherland.
