025 This name Signifying "Dermids Grave" is applied to a Mound or Tumulus Situated At side of fence at the dwelling house of "Chonais-aite," local tradition has it that "Dermid" who was a Youth of Extraordinary proportion and beauty, that the female heart Could not but Admire, he Succeeded in Seducing Fingals Wife. Fingal becoming incensed against Dermid Set a Boar upon him to destroy him, the Scene of this Conflict is Stated to have been on the North Shoulder of "Beinn Laoghal," the Boar was Eventually Slain by Dermid but he having become wounded in the leg by one of the Boars bristles, he died, and was buried at this place, this is the Subject of Ossianic Poem Entitled the "Death of Dermid." (See Clarks Ossian Vol II. [Volume 2] page 142)
