005 | This name is given to a church in ruins the walls of which are entire situated a short distance to the west of Bailenacille farm steading. * It is on the property of his Grace the Duke of Sutherland. * This church was erected between A.D. 1223 & 1245 & disused about AD 1843 when the Present parish church was built. The dedicatory name is unknown. In the interior of the building is a hollow stone which appears to have been a holy water Font, and named by the inhaitants, Clach an t'sagairt Ruaidh, signifying the Red Priest's Stone. This red priest is said to be the last previous to the Reformation. |
