CHURCH Formerly Cathedral [continued from page 6] 30 years ago the Duchess of Sutherland had it thoroughly restored to its former magnificence. The following inscription appears on a marble slab in the nave of the cathedral above the door.
"This ancient Cathedral having fallen into decay and ruin was re-erected, decorated and restored to religious service by Elizabeth Duchess and Countess of Sutherland in the years 1835, 6 and 7"
It is now used as the parish church.
