The parish of Criech is in the Presbytery of Dornoch, Synod of Sutherland and Caithness. It is bounded in the north by the Parish of Edderachylis and the Parish extends from the Ph. [Parish] of Dornoch on the east of the Parish of Assynt on the West, a distance of not less than 35 miles. It is bounded on the E [East] by the Parishes of Dornoch and Lairg, and on the south by the Kyle of Sutherland which is the County boundary between Sutherland & Ross shires. There are no detached portions of the parish of Criech, and there are no detached portions of any other parish situated within it. The principal landowner in the Ph.
