097 Applied to what appears to have been a stronghold of some sort in former days but unlike the other Towers in the Neighbourhood which were Constructed of Stone, this one appears to have been Constructed solely of earth, it is Circular in form, its diameter upon the top is about thirty yards & its base is about fifty yards in diameter. Its height above the General Surface is about Thirty feet and the slope from top to bottom is at an angle of about thirty degrees. there is a small enclosure upon the top which is Cultivated as a Vegetable Garden by the inhabitants of Kilbrare. 097 Applied to an isolated hill about 1800 feet high & situated about one half mile to the Southwest of Kilbrare Hill it is Covered heathy pasture and it signifies the Hill of the mountain [son?]. His Grace the Duke of Sutherland proprietor.
