017.04 Applied to the north bank of the Forth extending from the steamboat jetty to Forthbank Chemical Works. Vessels of seventy tons burden come up to this at high water of spring tides, which rise about 4 feet over the ordinary depth of the river. Several kind of works are carried on here viz., a soap work, two chemical works, two saw mills, several timber yards, and ship building. Various proprietors. The river is navigable to Ladyneuk about a mile further up the stream.
