017.03 "South West of the Castle lies a large park Surrounded with a Stone wall, called the 'Kings Park', where the Court hunted deer Kept in it. This field, together with the Gowling Hill and other Parcels of ground around the Garrison, form a Small jurisdiction called the Constabulary of the Castle. At the East end of the Park lay the Royal Gardens." Nimmo's history of Stirlingshire.
This Park is now farmed by Mr P Dewar and is let on lease, With a Servitude by which the Race Course is preserved from being turned up by the Plough. The Property of the Crown.
