017.03 Branches Off the Scottish Central about 13 Chains South of the Railway Station, and extends to Dunfermline. It is a double line of Railway and kept in good repair. The passenger and goods traffic on this line is pretty good. The property of the Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway Co [Company].

017.03 A Very neat building built in a beautiful Style of Architecture, one Storey high, it Comprises a Booking Office, Telegraph and Panel Offices, and the usual number of Waiting and refreshment rooms, with an extensive Platform in front which is covered in. Opposite to the Station on the other Side of the Scottish Central Railway, is a very neat Passenger Shed for the Accommodation of Passengers going South, and is Connected with the Station by means of a Wooden foot Bridge. The Board Room for the use of the directors are detached from the Station and form a part of a range of buildings called Mayday Yard. The approach to the Station is from Murray Place. The property of the Central Railway Company.
