010.15 ; 017.03 The name Applied to a Road which extends from its junction with Upper Castle Hill, which junction takes place contiguous to the large Whinstone Quarry, And After a Winding course around the North-West side of the Castle, terminates at the Village of Raploch, it is a Burgh Road and kept in good repair. "Ballengeigh" is a Gaelic Word, and signifies the "Windy Pass". Tradition Avers that this road was made on the Site of a Roman Road.
