There is a Public House, Railway Station and Coke Works in the Village. It is chiefly the property of the Scottish Central Railway.

018.15 A square tower or fortalice about 70 feet in height, it belonged to the noble family of Elphinstone before the transfer of the property to the Earl of Dunmore. It is evidently of Great Antiquity - and has lately been repaired by the Earl of Dunmore Dunmore Park, Airth.
