046.11 An ancient Standing Stone Six feet in height by about two feet square at the base, and tapering into a Sharp point at the top. It is Situated upon the E. [East] edge of a piece of Rough Pasture, and a Short distance South of "Stanesland:" no further information can be ascertained as to its origin than that it has been there as far back as any person can remember. It is doubtless that this stone is of the same class of ancient standing stones as those so frequently met with in the western highlands & islands,
