007.03 This name applies to a narrow arm of the sea runnng in from the "North Sea"; about 300 yards north of Netherton, and extending about one mile south of Netherton. it is about 160 yards of an average width, and is only navigable for small fishing boats, it is of a sandy bottom half way up from Netherton, from thence to the head is muddy. with heavy Spring Tides it ebbs out to within a 150 yards "South of Netherton".

007.03 This name applies to a small Headland, situated on the west shore of the Voe of Gloup and about a quarter of a mile South of Netherton it extends about half way accross the Voe, it is at this point that people cross the Voe, when it empties itself dry.
The Headland is the property of Capt [Captain] Henderson of "Gloup Hall".
