056.02 This name is given to the ruins of a Castle built in the year 1600 by Patrick Stewart. Its shape is an elongated square with a wing jutting south and west & is finished at each angle with a neat round tower projecting about 4 feet and about 20 feet from the base of the wall, the walls are of considerable thickness being in some cases about 6ft. The walls stand about 3 stories high the lower flat being arched over Scalloway Castle situated above the Village Was built about the year 1600 by Patrick Stewart the tyrannical Earl of Orkney "Vide" Fullertons Gazateer -
