010.12 The vestion of an old road said to have been used by Scott of Harden, a notorious Border robber, in journeying from Ettrick and Borthwick to Peebles and Innerleithen.
It can only be traced part of the way along the hill side leading from Yarrow Water to Oakwood Castle.

010.12 A conspicuous hill on Ladhope farm which derives its name from a stream, on its S [South] west side called "The Crook".
On its summit stands a large Shepherds Cairn which serves as a landmark when the snow is deep on the ground.
