It is mountain pasture land the steep side towards the west rocky and deficient of verdure. |

010.08 | The Ruins of an old "Border Peel" or Fortalice. the foundation can still be traced, but time has nearly levelled the walls, with the earth on which it stood. Very little is known, respecting it but it belonged to a family named the Murrays of Deuchar. (now extinct) a branch of the family of the same name residing at Philiphaugh no information can be obtained relative to the dates of its foundation or decay. |
