014.02 A high conical-shaped hill on the farm of Sundhope, covered with rough pasture It derives its name from the adjoining farm of Eldenhope.
Unrtil recently it formed part of the Duke of Buccleuch's property, who exchanged it for a portion of Casshope to John Johnston Esq Hangingshaw.

010.15 ; 014.03 The valley lying along the burn which bears the same name.
It is supposed to be a corruption of Sand Hope. This seems very probable as the soil is of a sandy nature, and is torn up on all sides with the floods.

010.15 ; 014.02 ; 014.03 A mountain stream rising on the western end of Sundhope farm, flowing through Sund Hope until it joins the Yarrow close to Sundhope farmhouse.
In its course it carries off all the water from the Sikes and Cleuchs on the farm of Sundhope.
