007.04 A Small "Village", or "Hamlet", near the side of the Cadon Water, and at where the Edinburgh and SelKirk road etc. Crosses the Galashiels and Peebles Road; there has been a Ford across the Cadon here on the Galashiels and Peebles road, and it is Said to have got this name from the fact of parties crossing the water together, and then Separating, Some going to Edinburgh, and Some to Galashiels etc. (but this is doubtful.) This place is by some parties called "WhylbanKlee", but much better known by "Clovenfords".
