Mr Thomas Elliott		 003.16 An extensive & ruinous place about 3/4 ths of a mile north of Clovenfords and 2 West of Torwoodlee. It appears to have been a place of considerable magnitude and great strength.
It is supposed to be of considerable antiquity, though it is not in any way mentioned in any Statistical account of the district.
It was the paternal residence of the family of Pringle. of the House of Yair.
