[North] Lodge, a distance of about 2 miles, having an average breadth of about ΒΌ of a mile, and covering the North slopes of Newark Hill The name is supposed by some, to be derived from a person who resided in the locality and who bore the epithet "Black", before his name (Andrew) as being highly descriptive of his physiognomy - And by others, that the name of Black Andrew or andro' was of old the name of the hill on which the wood now grows. |
