007.16 | This name is given to a track of land at present uncultivated, it is situated in the valley between the Peat Law and Hareshaw Hill, near to, where the bridle road crosses the Shorthope Burn. A part of this valley belonged formerly to the Abbey of Melrose and is supposed to have been under cultivation at that time, the exact spot has never been recognized but the name has been retained by the proprietor. |
