008.09 The Remains of this Ancient Fort Stand on the Summit of Rink Hill. it is partly of An eliptical form, And defended by two ditches, And the Ramparts of earth and Stone. has one entrance on the North East side. Which appears to have been defended by four ditches, And four Ramparts of the Same Material. On the North, And immediately Contiguous to this fort are at present distinctly visible. the Remains of four Smaller fortified Outposts, which have evidently been used in connexion, and a protection to the larger Fort. One of which appears on the Catrail. two on the West Side. And one on the North East. The Road used between the large, And some of the Smaller forts, And the Catrail have long since been demolished, And Cannot Now be traced.
