After passing through Yarrow and Selkirk parishes, and running a course of nearly 30 miles, it is lost in the Tweed, between Sunderland Hall and Abbotsford -

020 Black Burn has its Source at the east side of Capell Fell, and flows east to the Ettrick, a short distance from which it rises South of Midden Hill.
