005.13 | A neat and plain building with graveyard attached, situated in the East Third, in the village of Smailholm; it is very conveniently situated for the whole of the population; none of the inhabitants being more than two miles distant from the church; the greater part of them are within five minutes walk of it. The church has been frequently repaired partially; In 1820 and 1821 it was completely new seated, and otherwise much improved. It can easily accommodate 282 persons but may hold 300. All the sittings in the church are free. |
