A small hamlet consisting a few Cottages, Church, School, Manse, & a very extensive farm house & outbuildings, most of the buildings are slated, but some are in very bad repair, the turnpike Road from Hawick to Newcastle traverses the Village & a parish Road to Denholm branches off it.
