010.04 To prevent the banks of the Tweed from being drifted away, an embankment of Stone is here constructed along the South Side of the river for which the Scottish term is "a Putt" and from which, this Salmon Cast has derived its name, and which extends from immediately above the Caul near "Kelso Ana" along the Centre of the Tweed as far as the "Top of Roxburgh Street."
