A house 3 Stories high in good repair, In this house the unfortunate and ill used Queen Mary resided while administering justice to her rude border Subjects in October 1565. It is Said to have been at one time of greater extent, with a large paved Court at the west end, the principal entrances have been by large arched doorways. In the front of the house are the united arms of the Homes and Kerrs. The garden extends from the house to Jed Water, the property of General Armstrong, Occupied by Miss Armstrong. |
