This Tower Stood at the entrance of the Kirk Wynd and guarded the approach to the abbey from the Market Place, this Tower was occupied by and belonged to the Kers of Ferniehirst no dates can be accurately assigned as to its erection or abolition. Not a vestige of this stronghold remain - but its Site is well known. It was occupied in 1629 by Andrew Kerr.
