An old established name given to a slight declivity covered with natural wood - on the left bank of Catlee Burn and on the property of T. M. Scott Esqr. of Wauchope.

This Camp or Fort is in excellent preservation and has evidently been a place of Considerable Strength. It is overgrown with fir wood planted by Mr. Scott the proprietor in order to preserve it.

033.07 [Situation] About 1/4 mile S.E. [South East] of British Fort.
Remains of a camp or fort situated on the northern extremity of Wauchope Rig a part of this Strength has been defaced by the plough, but the outline is distinctly traceable. Several Roman Coins have been found here - hence the supposition of its origin being Roman.
