A three storey house having garden and office houses attached, it is situated about a mile north of Bonchester bridge and is the property of George Cleghorn Esqr of Weens. In 1502, a town called "Wyndis" (Weens) was possessed by a person of the Name of Alexander Wyndis, designed of that ilk. Extract from Pitcairn vol. [volume] 1 P. 37.
