015.10 A Small, Arable hill, or knowe, Southeast of and close to the village of
"Nisbet"; it gets this name from there being a large whinstone lying on its Summit. This Stone has very much puzzled geologists, to account for its presence here, as the hill on which it lies, is, a complete bed of fine sandstone, and not any whinstone to be found for nearly a mile in any direction from it.

015.10 A well known fishing stream in the "River Teviot", a short distance east of "Burnfoot Stream", there was at one time an island here, and when there is a flood in the River the stream still divides at this place
