090 This object originally formed the Chapter house of the Cathedral which the town Council rebuilt & now use as the Burgh Courthouse. It contains a vault below with a strong arched roof which until lately served the purpose of a prison for Fortrose. The building in its present state has very little appearance of ever having formed part of the Cathedral owing to its having been rebuilt in a modern style.
