It is supposed to have been the burying place of some person of note. |

Stone Circle (called Cairn Irenan) [note] In reply to remarks sent to the final examiner he states that Mr Kenneth McIntosh states that about 20 years ago some Danish nobles were making a tour through the Black Isle respecting cairns, Tumuli &c. and among others this Stone Circle came under their notice, and their opinion was that it had been the burying place of a Dane of some note which confirms local tradition see extracts from New Statistical Account at the end of Name Book.
