In the wood north of Culcairn part of the water is divided into another channel the principal portion going to feed the mill dam of that farm. The natural channel continues still towards the east till it reaches the northeast end of Dail Gheal where it is joined by a small Stream from the northwest. At this point the name ceases and the channel becomes artificial though the water reaches the Big Burn near Tallysow. Meaning, "Stream of the leaf". |

An old Graveyard near Waterloo. There is no definite information Concerning the date of it having been first used but tradition gives the following as the cause. A Priest belonging to the Black Isle having some difference with the then proprietor at Foulis Crossed the Cromarty Firth with a number of men bent on revenge, but the boat was accidentally upset on nearing the shore at this place and the occupants drowned. The priests body was the first interred which gives it the name meaning "Burying-place of Bhrea" or "Bhreacan Bhiea or Bhieacan being the name of the priest whose body was buried in the grave-yard.
