A row of huts, ten in number, the wall of which are about 5 feet in height, and composed of rough stones and earth: the roofs are nearly an oval form, and thatch with straw and in height proportional to the walls. they have neither windows or chimneys and the doors are low frail and narrow The walls are about 4 feet thick and the roofs are pitched so to leave a parapet of 2 feet on the outside. These huts were built by Lady McKenzie about 20 years ago for the benefit of distressed widows |
