It is bounded by a steep, rocky shore, with a Cliff about 130 high. It is the most prominent point on the coast, between the Butt of Lewis and Tolsta Head, and it is a good land mark to sailors.

There are a number of shealings on its margin. It is much resorted by wild geese.
