006 | [Situation] On the S.E. [South East] side of the plan, it is about midway between the Butt of Lewis and Tolsta Head, and 16 miles N.N.E. [North North East] of Stornoway. A head-land situated between the Butt of Lewis and Tolsta Head. It is about 5 miles from the latter place. It is composed of very bad mossy pasture which is much broken. It is bounded by a steep, rocky shore, with a Cliff about 130 high. It is the most prominent point on the coast, between the Butt of Lewis and Tolsta Head, and it is a good land mark to sailors. |
