005 | This is a low Hill on the Sea Shore on which is a trig [trigonometrical] Station and the ruin of a Castle it is composed of Rocky and mossy pasture the latter is very much broken producing very indifferent pasture though not high it is quite prominent being only about 170 feet high it is for all this the most prominent for a few Miles along the Shore on either Sides. |

005 | This is the ruin of a Castle. as far as the Shape of it can be traced on the Ground it appears to be mostly circular. the walls has fallen on both Sides of the foundation. it lies all in a Confused heap of Stones of about 2 or three feet high more like a large pile of Stones at a distance than the Ruin of a Castle. from its Situation on rather rising ground it is prominent to person travelling by the road from Stornoway to Ness from which road it lies about 1/2 Mile in a northerly direction after Crossing Allt Ghrunndail at Mealabost and about 1/2 mile north of the north end of the latter village |
