003 | This is a Small Village of a few Scattered houses in a Small hollow about midways between the villages of Cnoc Ard Ehriboridh the houses are in very bad repair built of peat moss and Stone Thatched with Straw and Header the people of it chiefly derive their Support from the produce of the land adjacent which tolerable good Sandy land Peghinnean means a certain measure of land used formerly in the Lews this village had 5 of those measures. |

003 | This is a Small village on Rising ground about 1/2 mile north west of Ness Port through which a road branches off from the main road to Stornoway from the Port the houses are as usual built of peatmoss and Stone Thatched with Straw & Header & Some of the houses are Rebuilt and are more comfortable than the original the village appears to take its name from the rising ground on which it is. |

Situated about [28] chains N. [North] East of Ness Port. |
