002 A small fresh water Loch appears to cover, at present, not more than half the space it occupied formerly. It Contains the Ruins of one of those circular old Castles so frequently met with in Lewis which appears to have been built of small unhewn stones - no portion of the wall can be traced at present but the Site is Covered by the small stones alluded to. The natives are unable to give any information as to its antiquity or use. It appears to have been about 50 feet in diameter and to have been Entered by a Causeway.
