005 This is a Small but Rapid River which flows from the north and west bases of Mulachan Crossing the road from Stornoway to Ness between the 17 and 18 Mile Stones from the former till it falls into the Sea at Eirc it receives Allt Ghrunndail at high water mark at the latter place there are a few corn Mills on it Some of which are in ruin along its banks into the moor is partly arable this name extends along it only as far as the Junction of Amhuinn Bhuirgh and Amhuinn Ghlinne Ruaidh.
