012.13 Extends from its junction With School Wynd and Meeting House Lane, to its junction with West Brae and Oakshawhead, Consists of houses two and three Storeys high, Slated and in good repair, It is a long, winding, Crooked Street, the East end is rather Precipitous, and Apparently no regard was paid to uniformity at its formation, On the north Side, however, are Some beautiful Villas which make up for its irregular formation; derives its name from the Circumstance of an Oak Plantation having been formerly Situated on the north Side of this Street, which Suggested the name; the word "Shaw" is the Scotch name for Plantation,__
