008 A noble river traversing a large part of the western lowlands of Scotland; the first in commercial importance, and not the least in natural beauty.
It rises in the most elevated part of the parish of "Crawford" in Lanarkshire flows through Hamilton and Glasgow, at the latter place it becomes navigable thence from Glasgow in a north-westerly direction, falls into the "Firth of Clyde" at the western extremity of Kilmacolm Parish, Renfrewshire
