002.11 A large and handsomely built Church on the South Side of "Chapel Lane" Its interior is well fitted up having a circular gallery, and in whole sufficiently Commodious for 1400 sitters, it was formerly a Chapel of ease but about 2 years ago it was constituted into a Parish (Quoad Sacra) charge called Newark. 002.11 A school house founded in the year 1816 by D. Beaton who mortified a considerable sum for the education of poor children, and the endowment of a Schoolmaster. The building is two storeys high, having the upper story as the Teachers Residence.
